Happy Holidays and end of the SWIMester, everyone! Great practicing and swimming!
We will be having our end of the Swimester get-to-gether this wednesday before Reading Day at Buffalo Wild Wings at 8pm.
Also, if you are interested in a Swim Cap for our meets next semester, let us know! We need to know how many people are interested before we can figure out prices and such. Let us know if anyone has any questions about anything, and if you have friends that want to join the club, send them our way, it's never too late!

Back From the Elon Fall Championships!

We are back from the Elon Fall Championships meet! It sounds like, for the most part, everyone had a fantastic time at the meet, and we made a lot of new friends. If anyone has any photos from the meet, be sure and post them up to the facebook group!
Also, there has been some expressed interest in having an optional dry land practice on Fridays. If this interests you, please let us know, and what time of the day would be ideal for you.

Info for New Swimmers

The UNCW Swim Club is always looking for new swimmers to join our team. We take swimmers from all experience levels, and there are no try outs or team cuts that limit membership. There are a only a few things that must be completed before becoming a member.

The first thing that is needed is a signed waiver that is obtained from campus recreation, or can also be found at this website underneath "Home Events" and titled "Waiver". The file is available in either PDF or a Microsoft Word Document. Please fill out the form and bring it to a swim practice along with a copy of your student ID and insurance cards.

The next item that must be completed is a swim test administered by a UNCW lifeguard.  The test consists of a 200 yard swim and 10 minutes treading deep water.  The test can be completed during swim practice or during recreational swim hours.  

The last item to join the swim club is to pay semesterly dues.  Please inquire about dues with the club president or treasurer, as dues may differ by semester as determined by the officers to meet the club's needs.  In the past, paying club dues has included payment for a team t-shirt or swim cap.
